When a peach isn’t a peach…

We are gradually learning to identify more and more of the flora on our sanctuary…with much thanks to the Jiggi Catchment Landcare Brainstrust!

This week our attention was drawn to a fairly insignificant shrub that had become the focus of attention for many birds including Brown Pigeons and Lewin’s Honeyeaters. Turns out to be “Native Peach” (Trema tomentosa)… yet it neither looks nor smells like a peach. But the birds do love it!
