For the last two and a half months, Abi has been taking on the main care role for two little gliders… Amy and Arrow. Then, before Christmas, another somewhat younger glider came into care. We named him Beau.
Because Beau was younger than Arrow and Amy, Abi kept him separate. However Beau was lonely.
So two days ago we decided to open up the aviary compartments and let them get to know each other.
Abi supervised the meeting because she was nervous that Arrow might be unhappy with a new male on the block. But they love each other!
Beau went straight over to meet them and seemed so happy to be finally back with other gliders. Arrow even shared a grasshopper with him!
Now all three gliders are curling up in the daytime together in a family nest box.
